Next-Gen Leadership at Enactus Eindhoven

By Jetske Kehrens - 7 March 2021

Hi! Let’s get acquainted! My name is Jetske Kehrens, 21 years old and I’m the marketing manager of Enactus Eindhoven. In this short article, I want to introduce you to our awesome student team: Enactus Eindhoven. Enactus Eindhoven is part of a global organization that consists of 1800 student programs in 35 different countries. Together, we are dedicated to make the world a better place! Enactus teams develop sustainable and responsible start-ups and allow students to develop themselves into next-gen leaders. As you might know, next-gen leaders are leaders who are truly mastering the art of corporate social responsibility, focussing on people, planet, and profit. Within Enactus Eindhoven, you can develop yourself as a next-gen leader by joining one of our project teams or even considering a board year!

Enactus Eindhoven proudly hosts two project teams: BrightBin and Beans for Beads. Both projects are focused on sustainability, but target different sustainable development goals (SDG’s). BrightBin is making the experience of throwing away litter more fun, resulting in litter being thrown away in a bin instead of mother nature. The project team is designing a device that lights up when you get near the bin and gives you a mini light show when you throw away trash. How cool is that!?

Beans for Beads is improving ocean life. Did you know that the scrubs you might use every week contain microplastics that flush down the drain into the oceans? Beans for Beads is tackling this issue by developing a plastic-free scrub. The plastic microbeads are replaced by used coffee grounds, making your scrub plastic-free! The Plastic Soup Foundation was very excited about this idea and Beans for Beads was nominated as a finalist in their Young Plastic Pollution Challenge!

If you have made it this far, you have probably realized that we are doing some amazing things at Enactus Eindhoven. We are always looking for new members to reinforce our project teams! To get a taste of what membership at Enactus Eindhoven is like, I invite you to our upcoming introduction event on the 17th of may! This introduction will take place online and will feature members and alumni who will share interesting stories of and after their Enactus journey! If you are interested and would like to sign up please fill in this form! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail us at! If you want to know more, you can watch this video.

I hope to see you soon at Enactus Eindhoven!

Kind regards,

Jetske Kehrens
